Bevels

Limitless design and customization opportunities in a monument perfectly suited to the elements.

Bevels (also referred to as pillow-top or hickey markers) feature a modest downward slope across the stone’s face, where the back of the marker is a couple inches higher than the front. This slope can be advantageous for a few reasons. Beveled markers are angled in such a way that makes them easier to read when standing in front of them. The sloped face allows dirt, debris, water, or snow to run off instead of pooling or standing on the face of the stone. This aspect may make them easier to care for and maintain over time.

Unlike flat grass markers, bevels are designed to sit above the ground. For this reason, many cemeteries will consider a bevel an “upright” monument and there placement may be restricted. Bevels may also be placed on top of a granite base, or they may be set directly into concrete or grass with no base.
